The law firm of Morriss | Shim | James is honored to represent a diversity of clients and their families that have been harmed by criminal and negligent conduct committed by persons and entities. This aspect of our practice covers a broad spectrum of legal matters including but not limited to injuries and wrongful deaths in motor vehicle, truck and motorcycle collisions, being harmed by persons driving while impaired or distracted and companies hiring unqualified drivers. It also includes victims of sexual assault and those injured or killed by violent crime and premises liability cases in which businesses, hotels and motels, malls, and apartment complexes fail to adequately protect their customers.
Bruce F. Morriss has successfully represented the interests of clients in hundreds of jury trials since being admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1990 in a wide diversity of types of cases. His background and knowledge in the criminal justice system allows him to use the court system for the benefit of the clients of Morriss | Shim | James.
Daniel Shim received his JD from Emory University in 1992, and his BA in history, with distinction, from Duke University in 1989.
He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in May of 1992, and has practiced in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death, social security disability, family law and criminal law. He has handled a wide variety of both civil and criminal appellate cases.
Robert James is the former District Attorney of DeKalb County Georgia, where he supervised the prosecution of 8,000 felony cases each year and DeKalb’s Juvenile Court. Robert gained national renown during his tenure as DeKalb’s top prosecutor. He was lead trial attorney in some of the most high profile cases in DeKalb’s history. Robert’s courtroom victories include but are not limited to: State v. Hemy Neuman, State v. Andrea Sniderman, State V. William Woodard, and State v. Burrell Ellis.
Mandy Donaldson is the Office Manager for Morriss|Shim|James. She is originally from Forsyth, Georgia and graduated from Monroe Academy in 1992. Mandy subsequently graduated with a B.B.A. specializing in General Business Administration from Georgia College and State University in 1996.
Mandy has worked with Bruce Morriss and Daniel Shim for the past seventeen years. Mandy communicates with the courts, assists with the preparation and filing of legal documents, and handles the office accounting and billing. Mandy also provides a wide range of client support services such as communicating with and providing information to the clients as needed, and keeping client files up to date. She is currently studying, and anticipates receiving, her paralegal certificate in March.
Mandy is married, and enjoys hiking, traveling, reading and listening to Hawaiian music. Mandy is also a fan of college and pro football. She likes to spend time with family, friends and her husband Clayton.
Shelley Morriss serves Morriss | Shim | James in a variety of roles including marketing, accounting and now as a paralegal, expecting to receive a Paralegal Certificate in March from the The Center for Legal Studies of the University of Georgia. Her employment background includes formerly being a call center supervisor for the Georgia Utilities Protection Center, a Florida certified customer service representative specializing in property and casualty insurance and a licensed life and health insurance agent as well as being a property manager.
Shelley and Bruce F. Morriss are married with three beautiful teenage children, she is active at The Cross in Loganville, GA. She enjoys photography and travel.
