Wrongful Death
Death is an all-too-frequent and tragic consequence of the many truck accident cases, car accident cases, and negligent security cases that we have handled. Georgia is governed by the Wrongful Death Act. We are intimately familiar with the Act, and have experience handling a wide variety of legal issues arising under the Act, including probate law matters.
One representative case includes a $4.3 million confidential settlement after litigation, which became necessary after the truck company’s insurer refused to offer anything to a widow and her children prior to our filing suit. Because the settlement was for more than the available policy limits, the truck company was forced to pay our clients directly out of its own pocket.
